Job Description
|
The iNSPIRE group is seeking well motivated experts in the area of machine learning and recommendation systems, able to work in a fast paced, continually evolving technological environment. The successful candidate will be asked to work in a locally funded industrial project, and to lead the initial design and implementation of an enterprise system capable of mining heterogeneous sources of real-world data. The candidate will be asked to apply State-of-the-art machine learning techniques to the specific problem under investigation, with a substantial "hands-on" work in the initial stage the project. This implies the ability to design and implement software components that can to be integrated by the other software developers involved in the project.

Technical Skills
|
Applicants should have a Master degree (or equivalent) in computing or other related discipline, a proved experience in applying machine learning techniques to complex problems and the ability to translate ideas into software components.
Knowledge or interest in the following areas would be advantageous: recommendation systems, artificial intelligence, pervasive computing, reality mining, algorithms.
The following technical skills will be required:
- Machine learning techniques and algorithms
- Data mining
- Spatio-temporal data analysis
- Algorithms
- Programming knowledge (C/C++, java, Matlab, etc.)

Organization Skills
|
The candidate must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience in participating in collaborative research projects is considered a must. Ability to work in team is also required.
