The CREATE-NET administrative area includes four Areas carrying out managerial activities in Accounting & Finance, Marketing & Funding, Human Resources and Institutional Relations. Those main areas assure the Center's internal and external communication as well as resources optimization.

Job Title MANAGER, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & EVENTS
Job Description

Foster Science for Innovation, Business & Technology (SIB) Council volunteer participation, community building and content development in support of strategic, technical, financial and operational objectives through pro-active management pertaining to event planning, membership, publishing and other related activities. Emphasis includes volunteer/staff relations, consensus building, strategic planning, communications, social media, production scheduling, budget administration, policy compliance and oversight of operational resources including logistics, marketing/promotion and IT.

Duties include:

• Developing SIB event themes, topical agendas, speaker confirmations, exhibitions and/or other related activities including marketing, sales and virtual conferencing.
• Facilitating event or other SIB business agreements in keeping with EAI & ICST expectations including cost effectiveness, minimized liabilities and deliverables.
• Ensuring proper EAI & ICST messaging, brand usage and strategic positioning.
• Providing recommendations to improve EAI & ICST business models.
• Troubleshooting questions, resolve problems and providing best practices.
• Facilitating compliance with EAI & ICST governance and policy requirements.
• Introducing new technologies and resource capabilities based on needs analysis to affectively support and sustain a full range of SIB Council activities.
• Ensuring high quality volunteer support services to exceed EAI & ICST standards.
• Managing SIB and related event web sites; including branding and maintenance.
• Capitalize web-based communications channels to match SIB Council initiatives.
• Managing SIB activity budgets during all phases of planning, execution and closing.
• Serving as staff liaison for SIB activities to ensure effective communications with key stake holders.

Technical Skills • Bachelors degree in Social Sciences, business administration or other related subject area. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Minimum 3 year meeting planning and project/staff management experience in a progressive and dynamic environment; preferably international.
• Familiarity with publishing, membership, registration, paper submission, marketing and other technology platforms and database systems.
• Proficiency in training & mentoring others is preferred.
• Knowledge of scientific and business communities within institutional work environments.
• Listens and communicates effectively in responsive/tactful manner; verbal and written.
• General knowledge of office practices, policies and procedures with practical experience using MS Office suite products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Organization Skills • Strong entrepreneurial, diplomatic and cultural sensitivities with proven results.
• Proven project management abilities while multi-tasking within a deadline driven environment to ensure deliverables are met.
• Familiarity with contractual agreements including service provider and B2B.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player in a dynamic business culture.
• Volunteer work experiences are a significant plus!
• Willing to work extended hours (including weekends); domestic and/or international travel one week or more as required.
Languages English proficiency (verbal/written) is required; 2nd language is preferred
