The center is organized in five Research Areas, one Engineering Competence Center and an Administration.

The operational management of CREATE-NET research, scientific, funding and administrative activities is directed by the Center's Area Head's and Executive staff, reporting to the President, the General Assembly and the Technical Scientific Committee (TSC).

CREATE-NET research is conducted jointly by on-site core Research teams in Trento, coming from more than ten countries and five continents, and by researchers from CREATE-NET partner institutions. In addition, CREATE-NET cooperates with a large number of partner institutions in Europe, over 140 institutions in research leading to the EU 4th call research proposals call, alone. The research teams organized on an area and project basis, include scientific personnel at all levels, from senior research personnel to PostDocs and PhD students. CREATE-NET hosts PhDs from English based International PhD school of the University of Trento as well as other universities.

CREATE-NET is also active in organizing seminars and hosting visiting fellows from top universities and research labs world-wide, such as Stanford University, Fraunhofer Institute, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, GeorgiaTech, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Technion, Ben-Gurion Ber Sheba University and many others.
