Ubiquitous, Interaction Group

Our research activity consists in investigating innovative techniques for enriching the user experience by means of the use of technology in different environments (home, work, social, mobility). Our research includes the creation of prototypes for experimenting and evaluating innovative interactive applications empowered by network communications.

Research Focus

UBiNT Group research activity is focused in three main domains:

  • Context adaptation for user support in ubiquitous systems – Understanding of dynamic contexts in human-populated environments including human behaviors for supporting people in their interactions with information, with other individuals and in general with their everyday activities. This research activity is sustained in investigation of human activity recognition techniques and in context aware computing paradigms.

  • User Centered Methodologies - Design and evaluation of interactive prototypes based on user centric methodologies. The research work in this direction will include the investigation of networked communities’ dynamics from the users’ viewpoint and other sociological aspects involved in ubiquitous interactions.
